About the Business Group:

Yahoo! North America Sales & Marketplaces, which brings together Yahoo!'s Sales teams across Search and Display advertising for the US, Canada and Latin America is currently seeking a “Manager of Business Operations” to drive the execution of our strategy throughout the region and help manage our day-to-day operations.


This position is ideally suited for a business savvy individual looking to leverage her/his considerable analytic, quantitative, and strategic thinking skills in the digital media industry. You'll be a part of a high performance group that works directly with the executive leaders of Yahoo!’s operating organization and will be specifically aligned to the VP of NA Field Sales on key strategy projects that drive Yahoo! advertiser relationships and revenue.

You are a self-starter with the passion to excel in everything that you do. You are comfortable working in an environment that is constantly changing, with the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks. You have a strong analytical background, with an ability to build thoughtful strategy based in data and market intelligence. You work effectively in high-energy, cross-functional teams and confidently communicate your findings to senior executives.


· The individual in this role serves will help determine, articulate and execute the strategic agenda for Field Sales.

· Serves as a trusted advisor and counselor to the VP on a wide variety of issues, including business strategy and priorities; internal and external positioning and visibility; organizational structure and talent development, recruitment and retention.

· Drive investigations into operational issues that have a direct impact on revenue and recommend solutions.

· Drive completion of strategic initiatives and special projects.

· Serves as first line of defense for incoming requests for VP’s mindshare and acts as an early warning signal for issues that need to be escalated.

· Support weekly/monthly/quarterly reviews for senior management that highlight key trends and recommendations for action.

· Drive transparency by aligning all stakeholders around a consistent set of metrics & key performance indicators.

· Drives business planning processes in partnership with peers and Fin Ops.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

· 7+ years working experience including significant contributions in digital media, technology and/or ad sales; in addition, management consulting experience preferred

· MBA from a top tier program and/or equivalent experience

· Understanding of online advertising industry context indcluding our client objectives and marketplace dynamics

· Proven ability to establish trusted relationships with executives and peers, to influence others, and to promote collaboration.

· Strong independent leader, a strategic thinker, and an accomplished communicator

· Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and across multiple locations

· Superior organization and time management skills to execute complex projects with tight deadlines; strong attention to detail and great follow-through

· Flexible, enthusiastic, and self-directed; thrives in an environment that is constantly changing and able to deliver results.

· Understands organizational dynamics, has operating experience with large and complex organization

· Ability to develop sound strategic frameworks and to analyze business opportunities and risks
