The Event Coordinator will support the Event Manager on all aspects of event creation, planning and logistics for events for the New York Law Journal and The Legal Intelligencer ranging in size from 6 to 300.

Responsibilities include:
•Researching, recommending and securing venues. This includes negotiating venue contracts.
•Building and maintaining a detailed marketing plan for events. This includes writing marketing collateral including website copy, promotional emails, ads, sales flyers, and brochures.
•Working hand-in-hand with the sales team as they pitch the event to sponsor prospects.
•Coordinating with speakers, winners, attendees, sponsors, ALM staff regarding logistics for events.
•Researching and recruiting speakers, stopics, geographic areas, sponsors, exhibitors, advertisers, and trade associations as needed.
•Serving as the point-person and on-site manager on the day of the event.
•Coordinating with ALM CLE manager for accreditation on certain events.
•Acting as a liaison with various departments such as sales, marketing, art and editorial staff as needed to ensure execution of the event
•Vetting and hiring third party vendors including photographers, A/V firms and temporary help.
•Maintaining event budgets and assuring all expenses are within budgetary constraints.

•3-5 years of experience in event coordination (including large scale events).
•At least 2 years of experience negotiating venue contracts and securing venues.
•Undergraduate degree in event planning, marketing or communications.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
•Familiarity with webinar and event management software a plus.
•Experience developing and maintaining targeted mailing lists.
•Ability to multitask and handle many projects simultaneously.
•Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
•Ability to travel to/from New York City and Philadelphia on a frequent basis.
•Ability to work nights and early mornings for events when necessary.
•Ability to travel and stay overnight as needed for events.
