Licensing Managers collaborate with library and consortia partners to extend access to Springer journals, eBooks, and databases across all disciplines. They work in an established market of doctoral granting universities to achieve revenue goals by maintaining existing business and developing new sales. They are curious, conscientious, independent, and, above all, problem solvers.
Specific Licensing Manager responsibilities include:
1.Increasing eProduct sales in their territory through detailed analysis, thoughtful preparation, and clearly executed metrics-based sales strategy
2.Maintaining and developing positive relationships with librarians and consortia by taking ownership of clear, responsible, and responsive communication across all media
3.Cover 13 states in the Northwest and Midwest, including key partnerships within the region
4.Fostering a positive work environment through open and creative collaboration across teams and departments
5.Representing Springer knowledgably and respectably
6.Current knowledge of trends and developments in publishing, academia, and the library universe
?Minimum 2 years prior publishing sales experience, preferably in the Academic library sector and within the Northwest territory
?Able to travel 40-50%, even internationally, if needed
?Strong understanding and previous experience in the STM market
?Knowledge of journal and multi-site licensing
?Proven ability to build and develop new business is needed
?Strong computer skills in databases?MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
?Well organized, highly motivated, flexible, able to work independently, and committed to travel
