The Role:

The Multimedia Web team, which develops Bloomberg.com and Businessweek.com, is
seeking a Head of Digital Analytics to lead an analytics practice within a complex organization. The individual in this position will seek opportunities to drive business forward through analytics leveraging disparate sets of data. This person will be highly engaged within the digital news and media industry using an analytics lens. The Head of Digital Analytics will be a key strategic part of the team in defining, implementing and measuring the Bloomberg consumer web digital business and will lead a small and growing team. The mandate will include providing dynamic and innovative ideas and information to be considered and leveraged by the Multimedia leadership team. This individual will report to the Global Head and GM of Multimedia Web.


- Develop and lead analytics strategy on large consumer websites via disparate data sources
- Drive high-profile analyses that will be leveraged by different teams within the organization
- Liaise with Product, Technology, Editorial, Media Operations and Design teams to drive strategic thought and produce actionable insight
- Lead and develop a team of analytics professionals

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

- Passion for data, insights and results
- Understanding of the factors that drive success for a news and media website
- Capability to manage an analytics framework of a large-scale business
- Aptitude to multitask given multiple and competing priorities simultaneously
- Ability to think strategically and execute methodically in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is the norm
- Clear communication of findings and recommendations of complex analyses to all stakeholders
- Strong team-orientation with clear presentation, and business case skills
- Influence cross-functional teams without formal authority


- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of recent/relevant digital/media/news experience
- 5+ years of experience in digital analytics and managing large datasets
- 3+ years of experience in leading a team and managing several direct reports in a complex organization
- Strong track record across most or all of the following disciplines: web analytics, media measurement, third-party research, databases and/or statistical analysis
