The emerging brands in the food category at Scripps Networks Interactive are seeking a part-time Audience Development Contractor, with a focus on outreach, link building and PR efforts for Food.com, who will report to the Director, Audience Development.

The ideal candidate is a highly-talented individual with a passion for PR, link building, audience development, social media, digital trends and strategies, knowledge of SEO/SEM, and experience with web analytics to benchmark performance. We’re seeking an ambitious, passionate self-starter who can yield positive results with limited resources and oversight.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Create and execute outreach and digital PR campaigns, with an emphasis on SEO and inbound link-building
•Work with the site and audience development teams to create and implement SEO-beneficial online marketing programs and promotions
•Publish, share, listen, engage and build relationships with potential media outlets, websites, blogs, influencers, partners and customers
•Use your skills in competitive intelligence to generate new leads and nurture existing opportunities, primarily in the food vertical, as well as complimentary verticals including health, wellness, specialty diets, lifestyle, travel, etc.
•Identify new opportunities and partnerships to grow audience participation through the lens of link building and SEO development
•Pitch media, content and story ideas to increase brand awareness and foster link growth

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•Knowledge of content production with strong writing and editorial abilities required
•Familiarity with web analytics (e.g. Omniture, Google Analytics) and ability to pull that data and report on trends
•Ambitious and passionate about search engine optimization inbound link building and online PR
•Proven track record (with stats to back it up) in blog and website outreach, link building, and online PR
•Strong desire to research and share the latest SEO techniques and strategies
•Practical experience of implementing successful social media campaigns
•Independent, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and keen analytical skills
•Highly creative, strategic thinker with strong time management skills and strategic vision
•Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively with other teams

Educational and Experience Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, PR, computer science, communications or equivalent education/experience
•3+ years in a link building, PR, social media or SEO role
•A demonstrable track-record of SEO success and a desire to progress your career
•Experience in website design, including HTML and CSS
•An understanding of most online marketing disciplines
•Outgoing personality, a good networker and very sociable
