Quartz produces a wide range of material, from reported stories thousands of words long to short and snappy aggregated round-ups, as well as charts, photo-stories, interactives and more; their aim is to constantly push the boundaries of the journalistic form online.

The Associate Marketing Manager will be part of a small but fast-paced marketing team with a scrappy attitude and a love for the creative process. He/she will play an integral role in developing and executing marketing strategies, promotions, and programs for The position combines core big idea/platform creation, proposal writing, copywriting, and program & event execution. The position will report to the Director of Social Content, Marketing.

Responsibilities Include:

-Partner with sales to develop innovative, market-leading ideas and write proposals for current and prospective advertisers that could include online, social media, mobile, app, and emerging media elements that leverage editorial, custom content, and external partnership opportunities
-Successfully manage integrated programs that could include rich media, original video content, mobile, social media, and QuartzLIVE event components from activation to recap
-Serve as the day-to-day contact and project manager for select accounts, and lead in the creation and management of program timelines and budgets
-Work with members of the Quartz marketing team to concept and build ad creative for partners, as well as look to develop new ad placements and opportunities for all of the Quartz properties
-Manage social promotion for marketing initiatives, including scheduling, trafficking, and client approvals
-Continually identify emerging trends in social media and online advertising, and work proactively with the Senior Manager of Strategy and Brand Marketing & Director of Social Content to turn them into innovative new platforms
-Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Strategy and Brand Marketing to analyze raw research, develop branded materials, and formulate new ways for the Quartz brand to grow

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:

-Minimum two years experience
