The National Training Manager (NTM) is responsible for developing, coordinating and executing training that includes New Rep Training and on-going training of all reps and sales managers. The position will work with the divisions within Macmillan Higher Education to train on products-both print and digital, sales skills, and define media competencies for reps and specialists. The NTM will train on CRM usage and will be a strong advocate for the necessity of using data to drive business. Training on CRM will extend beyond the sales organization. The NTM will help design and implement National Sales Meetings and Regional trainings. Deep collaboration with many parts of the organization is required. This position is also responsible for meeting and exceeding financial and unit goals for Macmillan Higher Education.


Sales Organization
* Develop training program for all members of Sales Organization.
* Develop new method for housing training materials and maintain and improve current training processes and tools.
* Develop methods for assessing progress
* Implement new and better ways to train on products and sales process.
* Work with reps and RMs on campus making sales calls
* Work with reps and RMs off campus to improve efficiencies

Marketing / Presentations/Training Customers
* Work with Educational Technology Consultants to determine their best practices and how their skills/knowledge can be incorporated into the sales representatives' day to day activities.
* Work with the Bedford and WHF/Worth Specialist managers in coordinating training sales reps to create individual training plans for sales representatives as needed.
* Work with product teams to help develop strategies and tools to successfully launch new media products.
* Respond to requests from marketing and editorial to participate in the creation of materials needed for in-service, training and professional development.
* Assist in the planning and execution of designated training events for major customers and departmental prospects at national and regional conferences.
* Attend assigned national conferences.
Market Development, Marketing and DMS
* Communicate issues, opportunities, observations and market trends to all Macmillan Higher Education groups.
* Train sales group to take full advantage of Market Development leads.
* Collaborate with marketing to improve internal marketing communication

* Actively participate at semi-annual Macmillan Higher education sales meetings and regional sales meetings.
* Assist Macmillan Higher Education Editorial & Marketing Groups as requested by appropriate personnel.
* Maintain company property including physical office equipment, all company materials, computer equipment and databases.
* Manage and track travel & entertainment (T&E) activities and remain within budget.
* Achieve annual sales goal.

College Degree: Bachelor's Degree

Specific Requirements: 5-7 Years Work Experience.
Skills/Experience/Credentials: 5 years Publishing Sales, marketing and or editorial experience with success selling or promoting or creating digital products.
