Viacom Creative Services - Viacom's in-house advertising, marketing and branding studio - is looking for someone who is ready and willing to put in the time and dedication it takes to work as an executive/editorial assistant while gaining exposure and contributing to the inner workings of a top-tier in-house advertising studio.

This full-time freelance position primarily serves as assistant to Creative Services' SVP and as administrative support for the entire Creative Services department (including the editorial department).

Assistant to the SVP duties include:
-Booking meetings and maintaining an accurate calendar
-Answering phones
-Booking travel and handling related expense reports, itineraries, etc.
-Drafting e-mails and correspondence
-Serving as the SVP's right hand person, ensuring smooth operation of the office and all related projects and tasks

Department assistant duties include all administrative functions for the department at large including drafting correspondence; scheduling meetings and appointments; arranging staff meetings and off-sites; filing; answering phones; reconciling expenses; managing the art and office supplies; making travel arrangements; preparing and tracking expense reports; maintaining status reports, databases and portfolios; and various other responsibilities.

As assistant duties are mastered, there will be the opportunity to take on smaller writing/editorial support assignments including research, fact-checking and some smaller writing and proofreading projects.

This position is exposed to all facets of the Creative Services department, which creates integrated advertising, marketing and branding solutions across all media and platforms.

Creative writing, marketing/advertising writing, nonfiction or journalism background required. Administrative/office experience ideal. Also required: writing, editing and proofreading skills: excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills: attention to detail: the ability to work under strict deadlines and juggle several tasks at once. Bachelor of Arts required (English, Marketing/Advertising or Journalism preferred).
