Veterans Outreach Fellow - 1 year fellowship


This part-time, 20 hours per week position is for a Veterans Outreach Fellowship at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Primary responsibilities will be to facilitate and coordinate relationships, and increase engagement with military and veteran organizations. The Veterans Outreach Fellow (VOF) will interact with all levels of the Lincoln Center staff, its constituents, and veteran partner(s). This Fellowship represents an excellent opportunity to learn the inner workings of the largest performing arts organization in the world, gain arts management experience, interact with senior level leadership at Lincoln Center, as well as develop meaningful relationships with various veterans' organizations and develop Lincoln Center's veterans' initiative.


The VOF is responsible for serving as a facilitator between constituents, veterans' organizations, and federal, state, and local agencies as necessary. Responsibilities include:
- Developing Engagement Opportunities: The VOF will identify opportunities to expand Lincoln Center's presence in the veteran community. The VOF will be required to develop and manage a robust calendar of events and offerings for veterans in the tri-state area. He/she will be primarily responsible for helping in the sustained engagement of veterans at Lincoln Center.
- Strengthening Commitment and Mobilizing Action: The VOF will be responsible for assisting with advocacy opportunities for veterans at Lincoln Center. In addition, the VOF will be responsible for liaising with veteran organizations through email, social media, and established partnerships.
- Outreach: The VOF will work alongside the Marketing department and with senior Lincoln Center staff to identify opportunities to communicate the benefits and message of Lincoln Center's veterans' initiative.

Additionally, the VOF will be responsible for performing other duties as assigned by other staff members.


This program is limited to veterans who have served on active duty. High school degree required, some college courses preferred but not required. Professional education through the U.S. military is highly encouraged. The VOF must be action-oriented, a proven self-starter, be able to work both independently and in a team environment, and display excellent communication and organizational skills. Additional attributes include a service-oriented nature, positive attitude, and strong collaborative ability. An interest in the arts in not required but is appreciated.
