Reuters Television seeks creative online video production journalists to create video-based stories for US and global online syndication. Successful candidates will have strong domestic and international news sense, previous experience working in video news (including areas such broadcast writing, voicing and non-linear editing) and an understanding of the needs of online news publishers. Accuracy and a commitment to sound journalistic values are essential. The positions are based in Washington DC.


Ability to work in a team to make news judgments and assess content to meet subscriber needs/Production of online-ready video stories ranging in complexity from natural sound clips to fully-finished packages and multimedia displays to meet the needs of US and international clients/ Communicating with clients via a variety of electronic means to understand and meet their content needs.

Required Skills:

Experience working in a video news environment/ Thorough understanding of journalism principles and ethics/ Understanding of international and domestic news agenda across a variety of subjects from hard to light news/ Competence on non-linear editing equipment (Avid and/or Final Cut)/ Fluent written and spoken English/ Ability to use a variety of newsroom technologies/ Proven ability to create video content to publishable standard/ Accuracy and an ability to meet deadlines

Desired Skills:

Field news-gathering experience/ competence in languages other than English/ Experience with other web publishing technologies and software/ camera skills
