Quartz’s sleek design and over-arching mission have already started to receive recognition. Acclaimed veteran journalists Jeff Jarvis and Leo Laporte described the site as being “the future of media,” while Neiman Journalism called the product a “technological and structural innovator.”

Quartz is expected to continue to disrupt the business news landscape and expand its team, which includes veterans of some of the world’s highest-quality news organizations who have reported in 115 countries and speak 19 languages. Quartz staff reports throughout the world, and its headquarters is in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan.

This opportunity offers the chance to work with a dynamic, growing, all-star team of media professionals in our Chicago office with two colleagues from The Atlantic magazine.

Quartz is owned by Atlantic Media, the publisher of The Atlantic, National Journal, and Government Executive.

Responsibilities Include:

•Cultivate strong relationships through a consultative process involving meetings and presentations with client and agency decision makers seeking to engage Global Business Professionals.
•Meet with advertisers and ad agencies throughout the Midwest to articulate the editorial mission and readership of Quartz and determine a fit between publication and potential advertiser.
•Develop and deliver winning programs and proposals that lead to lasting and commercially successful advertising partnerships with a focus on branded content creation and innovative custom advertising.
•Inform our ongoing and developing business strategy development through deep knowledge and understanding of the market, categories, advertising business, and trends.
•Serve as a representative of the Quartz brand in Chicago within the advertising community in a positive, convincing, and enthusiastic manner.

•Strong analytics and real-time judgment
