Job Description:

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world's leading conservation organization, seeks a Writer & Editorial Coordinator. Working under the supervision of the Editorial Director on the Institutional Communications team, the Writer & Editorial Coordinator will research, write and deliver compelling, original content on a regular basis, and revise or otherwise modify that content for multiple platforms and audiences. Additionally, the Writer & Editorial Coordinator will provide clerical, production, and editorial support; input edits as directed; and help ensure content conforms to WWF style and standards. The Writer & Editorial Coordinator supports the editors to meet schedule deadlines, track production of publications, and update/distribute schedules.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1.Writes, compelling stories and other content for WWF's print and digital communications platforms, including engagement on infographics and video, and ensuring quality audience-focused content across all platforms.
2.As assigned, takes lead on story and photo research, fact-checking and proofreading all publications' content.
3.Supports all Institutional Communications publications and editorial priorities, including but not limited to schedule management, writing and editing, and tracking, administration of contracts and invoices.
4.Supports coordination of scheduling and Editorial Calendars.
5.Supports tracking and management of all administrative duties relating to invoices, payments, etc.
6.Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Relationships

1.Internal: Interacts daily with communications staff, online marketing, program communications, web teams and IT.
2.External: Frequent contact with freelancers, stock agencies, and digital agencies working with WWF.

Minimum Requirements

1.Education/Experience: Requires 3 to 5 years professional experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field. Experience working within a publishing environment or magazine experience strongly desired.

2.Skills and Abilities
•Exceptional verbal and written communications skills; the ability to translate complex concepts into easily understood language
•Ability to prioritize and complete work with minimal supervision
•Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, and meet production deadlines
•Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
•Strong interest in and commitment to conservation
•Proficiency with desktop publishing software and content management systems
•Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/Photoshop) desirable but not required
