Amazon Publishing is the publishing arm of Amazon and encompasses the imprints AmazonEncore, AmazonCrossing, Montlake Romance, Thomas & Mercer, 47North, and Little A. We seek a savvy marketing professional to work closely with our merchandising and marketing teams to develop marketing strategies and campaigns that help authors market and sell their books using the latest digital marketing techniques and data. This is a multi-faceted job in a start-up environment. Flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a good sense of humor are a must.

Core Job Responsibilities
  • Conceive, create and execute innovative digital marketing programs to help our authors find readers.
  • Create marketing collateral including online, print and video media; manage internal & external agencies and creative partners.
  • Use data to measure performance of programs and drive innovation.
  • Partner with groups within Amazon to develop and leverage marketing programs and identify new opportunities that align to team and cross-company goals.
  • Manage communication with and expectations of authors from around the world, from various backgrounds and cultures.
  • Educate authors of varying experience levels on the best way to take an active role in marketing their books, both on and off Amazon.

  • BA/BS required.
  • 5 or more years experience in merchandising, marketing or publicity experience in a related industry (publishing, or other content-related businesses).
  • Experience working with MS Excel required.

  • Ability to aggressively create innovative new consumer marketing programs--especially in social media and content--that generate results.
  • Hands-on experience with SEM, display advertising, SEO, blogging, affiliate marketing, and social media marketing.
  • Superior analytical skills and the ability to use data to measure results.
