Amazon Disc on Demand is looking for Support Engineer to join our development team. Our projects include massively scalable web applications and global ingestion pipelines that process content at the scale of petabytes, not megabytes. This is an opportunity to join a world class team that is at the forefront of creating the next major media ingestion platform. You should be somebody who enjoys working on solving problems, is customer- centric, and feels strongly not only about operations but also about running systems and software in the real world. You must enjoy a close-knit team environment of shared responsibility. The ideal candidate will have distributed systems experience, a strong Linux/Unix background and a dedication to excellent customer support.

Learn and use groundbreaking technologies
* Work directly with Amazon Disc on Demand engineers and operations to help reproduce and resolve customer issues
* Own our experience with customers, internal and external
* Drive projects that improve support-related processes and our customers' technical support experience

Basic Qualifications Must have demonstrated expertise in two or more of these areas:
* Systems administration (Linux and/or Windows Servers)
* Networking (DNS, TCP/IP)
* Programming / scripting (Java, Python, Ruby, Perl and/or PHP)
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Customer service experience / strong customer focus
* Strong multi-tasking skills
* Support / Troubleshooting experience
* Self-starter who is excited about technology

* Exposure to Virtualization (VMware, Xen, Hypervisor)
* Exposure to AWS technologies (S3, EC2, RDS)
* Exposure to security concepts / best practices
* Experience managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications
