Your tasks
The RHPG Finance and Analytics team is seeking a data driven problem-solver to be responsible for aggregating, analyzing, and interpreting large amounts of data from multiple sources in a simple and succinct way. The Finance and Analytics team is responsible for crunching all numbers associated with the Random House Publishing Group. This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative, curious, and agile person looking to grow and learn.

The Market Data Analyst will be responsible for:

MARKETING ANALYTICS
- Campaign post-mortems (ROI, Effectiveness, Awareness, Attribution)
- Consumer analytics (region, affinity titles, timing)
- Format, category, and imprint analyses of marketing campaigns on group level

DIGITAL ANALYTICS
- eBooks studies (category, timing, projecting, etc.)
- Pricing promotion studies
- Low-price consumer analysis

FINANCE ANALYTICS
- Sales and profitability studies (category, author, format, etc.)
- P&L analysis
- Expense analysis
- Some budget and forecast analysis as needed


Our requirements
A bachelor?s degree in finance, statistics, or any other analytic, data-focused field and 1 to 3 years related work experience handling large, complex data is required. Publishing experience is beneficial, but not required. The ideal candidate possess a demonstrated ability in defining and answering analytical questions, attention to detail without losing big picture, and understanding of financial principles. Candidates must have advanced Excel skills, with knowledge of business intelligence software like Business Objects and knowledge of SQL a plus. The ideal candidate also has excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills.
