The Events Manager will participate in all aspects of planning and executing Cottages & Gardens events, such as showroom events, client functions and C&G's signature event, the Innovation In Design Awards, in Connecticut, the Hamptons and New York City. This role reports to the Marketing Director and will work closely with both the marketing and sales teams. The position is based in Norwalk, CT and travel to NYC and the Hamptons is mandatory for events. The events manager should be able to represent all C&G magazines, develop new relationships and opportunities and attend all events.

Key Responsibilities:
*Manage and execute all events. Duties include: venue selection, creating effective collateral and invites, tracking responses, managing costs, overseeing general logistics, complete ROI on events
*Maintain expenses/budget for all events in all markets
*Effectively liaise with vendors to communicate the information necessary to successfully execute event needs
*Research and recommend organizations to align with in all three markets
*Write compelling copy for the C&G e-newsletters, dedicated emails, events calendar and promotion pages
*Maintain and update events calendar in all markets
*Create Tastemaker proposals for new/potential Tastemaker/clients
*Produce event recap presentations
*Liaise with sales staff on proposals
*Extension of events through social media, PR, etc.
*Understand C&G's products and market positioning and have interest in interior design
*Attend weekly sales and marketing meetings and provide feedback on events

Preferred Skills/Experience:
*Candidate should demonstrate a long-term interest in and commitment to events planning/management
*3-5 years of events experience, preferably within magazine publishing
*Background with luxury brands and/or shelter category
*Possess strong interpersonal and communications skills
*Proficient writer
*Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and adhere to strict deadlines
*Have the ability to work independently and be a team player
*Strong computer skills, including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel; InDesign a plus
*Degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, related field or equivalent experience
