The Wall Street Transcript is looking for an energetic sales professional for its New York office. This professional will be a financial news and information sales specialist who can manage a subscription based sales effort for online and offline subscribers.

The Sales and Marketing manager will be conducting direct and online sales as well as manage a small existing staff for online social marketing through facebook, linkedin, stocktweets, financial blogs, and other web syndication relationships. An existing self produced email list will also be part of the online marketing mix. A well documented process that details metric based success including traffic and sales results will create early opportunities for commissions and career advancement.

The Sales and Marketing Manager will also be responsible for development of new online relationships that boost traffic and subscriptions. Development of freelance marketing assistants within 3 to 6 months would also be career enhancing.

The job will be in midtown Manhattan for at least the first 3 to 6 months, ability to work from 'the cloud' after that is possible.


1 to 3 years print and online financial information subscription sales and renewals experience

Ability to use existing web and email information to develop hot leads and close on subscription sales to these leads

Ability to prospect and cold call potential new subscribers

Strong writing, communication and presentation skills

Self starter and creative thinker who also has strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Proficiency in web analytics, Microsoft Office or the equivalent and InDesign

Ability to develop online partnerships with high traffic and affinity websites

BA and 1 to 4 years managing subscriptions and online marketing for an established financial news and information website.

Starting Base Salary

Mid 5 figures depending on experience and qualifications. Commissions are expected to be 100% of base salary based on documented metrics.

Prior subscription sales specifics from recent employment history greatly appreciated.
