The VP will be a key resource to the institution’s President, administrative and academic leadership, faculty, volunteers, students, alumni, and other stakeholders and be involved in overall institutional planning and policy decisions. Therefore, candidates must have a sincere interest and appreciation for Cooper Union’s heritage, enduring qualities, and innovative educational environment; the synergetic relationships created among its three flagship schools – Architecture, Art, and Engineering; and the institution’s importance in the city's educational and civic life. The ideal candidate for this role will be an innovative, focused, and proven communications leader. He or she will bring a collaborative, proactive approach to comprehensive communications strategies and activities, while also possessing the talent and interpersonal skills to effectively engage the members of Cooper Union’s diverse community.
