We seek a Public Relations Associate who will publicize and service CHC concerts and special events with specific focus on classical music performances. Write press releases and develop other press materials. Create publicity plans, pitch stories, and arrange interviews and any related photography. Interface with press, artists’ representatives, and Carnegie Hall partner organizations. Collaborate with Assistant Director and other team members on publicity for major CHC projects/initiatives and overall season as needed. Contribute ideas designed to generate positive visibility for Carnegie Hall. Provide PR support for select fundraising events and projects as assigned, including some coordination of society press and photography. Serves as main contact for press ticketing, managing ticket allocation and database for all CHC events. Work closely with PR management to service requests for institutional information. Press Duty
Qualifications: Bachelor degree with minimum 3-5 years of public relations experience, including direct work with journalists and proven success in managing projects from beginning to end. Excellent writing skills required. Knowledge of classical music strongly preferred. Understanding of media industry, including knowledge of classical music and arts journalists. Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse constituents, prioritize and multitask, and work as part of a team in extremely fast-paced office environment. Computer knowledge/Internet savvy. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
