The Director of Communications will be responsible for the development and implementation of public relations campaigns and strategies for Oxygen Media. This position is based in Los Angeles, CA and will report to the Senior Director of Communications based in New York, NY. Essential Responsibilities:

* Report directly to Senior Director of Communications on all network PR campaigns and programming strategies. In addition, this position will report into VP of Communications on all development projects, corporate assignments and diversity initiatives.

* Create innovative press campaigns and strategies for the networks programming, marketing campaigns and partnerships, multiplatform initiatives, executives, award campaigns and network branding efforts.

* Oversee and create innovative press campaigns and strategies for the networks development slate.

* Generate press materials including press releases, ratings releases, press strategies, bios, episode descriptions, pitch letters, executive announcements, talking points, company statements, website content and media alerts.

* Pitch stories to national and local media including consumer, trade, print, digital and broadcast.

* Create and supervise press activities for series including interviews, photo shoots, press tours, promo shoots and on-set visits.

* Work directly with senior level staff to create and execute strategies, network goals, announcements, internal communications and presentations.

* Media train and prepare talent and executives for interviews, appearances, panels, press conferences and trade shows.

* Cultivate relationships with talent, producers, PR agencies and representatives, agents, managers, production companies, media and programming executives in order to ensure maximum coverage.

* Coordinate press efforts with outside PR agency to successfully execute show campaign strategies.

* Oversee and assist department on special events including premiere and finale parties, press stunts, red carpets, Upfront events and Television Critics Association.

* Responsible for budget on assigned campaigns.

* Proactively identify breakthrough trends and social media opportunities to maximize series coverage.

* Service daily media requests and act as network source of information on programs.

* Monitor competitive environment via daily review of competitive/industry news.

* Additional duties assigned as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree

* Minimum 7 years of TV publicity experience Eligibility Requirements:

* Must be willing to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice.

* Must be willing to work in Burbank, CA.

* Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation.

* Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

* Must be 18 years or older.

* Must accept Solutions, NBCUniversal's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.

* Publicity experience with unscripted series at a cable network or related entertainment company is preferred.

* Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

* Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to identify coverage opportunities beyond the television pages and utilize emerging social media trends when promoting series.

* Experience working with marketing and digital on cross-over opportunities and partnerships with advertisers and clients.

* Extensive relationships with a broad range of national and local press outlets, reporters, bloggers, bookers and producers.

* Experience interfacing with high-profile talent, top industry executives, managers, producers and media.

* Ability to prioritize and juggle numerous projects and deadlines in a high volume and fast paced environment.

* Skilled in crisis management with ability to anticipate, identifying and quickly resolve critical issues in a timely manner

* Exhibit strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to work both independently and with a team.

* Flexible work schedule with some late nights and weekend work required and travel as needed.
