Social Media Specialist
Kensington is seeking a Social Media Specialist with a passion for reading voraciously and talking about books, both in person and online. We are looking for someone who is interested and has a background in new and cutting edge online marketing strategies and up-and-coming social media promotional opportunities. Our specialist will be involved in the following: -All online marketing efforts including, but not limited to: -social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Goodreads, Pinterest)-blogger outreach-email list building and formatting-Increasing Kensington's social media penetration by launching in platforms such as Tumblr, and new sites as they come to prominence-Watching for internet and social media trends, both in publishing and other industries, and devising ways they can be used to further Kensington's outreach online, keeping Kensington on the cutting edge of new trends and platforms available to grow our presence and promotion-Communicating with authors regarding their online platforms, including, but not limited to:-Outreach to major bestselling authors to assist in maintaining and furthering their online presences-Working with debut authors to launch their online platforms, and assist in growing them-Maintaining and updating our Facebook platform, including, but not limited to:-Creating and uploading pdfs of excerpts-Creating and uploading polls and quizzes about current key titles-Creating and uploading sweepstakes information and photographs-Communicating with our Remote Reviewer blog partners regarding questions about upcoming and current books-Creating and utilizing additional ways to grow our Remote Reviewer buzz-building reader network-Maintaining a spreadsheet of our current and upcoming Facebook promotions-Designing and creating Facebook cover photos featuring Kensington's key titles monthly and cover photos for authors as required-Building and maintaining our mobile apps-those that are already available, and as further are required-in a self-service app portal-Shooting and editing video for use on our social media platforms as well as other outlets, including retailersQualifications:-2+ years experience in social media promotion in a media-related industry-particularly book or magazine publishing-Excellent writing skills and experience communicating with high-level business partners-Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, HTML coding, and Photoshop-Excellent social networking skills and knowledge of up-and-coming sites where there is increasing reader interaction-Strong attention to detail is essential -BA or equivalent work experience-Must be a team-player who can work well with others. -A love of books/eBooks-particularly trade fiction including romance, mysteries and thrillers, women's fiction, and young adult books, is essential.Please include cover letter, resume, and salary requirements.
