The PrepU Product Manager will be an experienced, results-driven leader responsible for defining, developing, and implementing products for the Macmillan New Ventures PrepU product team (www.prep-u.com). You will be a visionary capable of understanding and communicating customer needs. You will be a part of a team responsible for delivering exceptional products. You will be a doer who can see a vision through to completion. The role requires an instinct for developing great products, experience working with clients and engineering teams, and the ability to translate customer needs into simple, usable products that delight customers. Responsibilities: • Create and manage the PrepU product vision, soliciting input from customers, users, stakeholders, and the project team • Develop data-driven business cases based off of input from customers, users, stakeholders and the project team • Develop and drive product requirements including wire-framing • Monitor the development status of product requirements throughout the product lifecycle • Manage a product backlog and ensure the value of the work the team performs • Track product development and create release schedules and product launch plans • Drive product adoption through marketing and sales efforts • Bring new products to life and manage the product lifecycle • Support and develop strong customers relationships Skills / Knowledge: • Product management or product design experience with a focus on higher education (preferred) • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a fast-paced environment • Experience developing software and/or Internet applications • Knowledgeable across many functional areas: product management, UI, sales, customer support, finance, and marketing • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a fast-paced environment • Problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills • Strong technical abilities • Experience working with engineers and developers • Familiarity with adaptive learning and online assessment (preferred) • Flexible and willingness to work as a team member doing whatever it takes to release an exceptional product • Familiarity with adaptive learning and online assessment (preferred) • Exceptional customer relationship skills Experience: • Demonstrated ability to create innovative software/web-based applications • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities • Account management • Demonstrated project management abilities • Exceptional communication skills and ability to evangelize products Educational Background: • Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, science, education, instructional design or equivalent work experience
