Job Description
Rodale Inc, the authoritative source for trusted content in health, fitness and wellness, is currently seeking a Recruiter to join their Talent Management team. The position will be based in New York City with travel to Rodale’s headquarters in Emmaus, Pennsylvania. Alongside the talent acquisition group, the selected candidate will perform all facets of recruiting including: sourcing, screening and overseeing the Internship/Rotation Program. This position will be key to the effective rollout of the Rodale talent strategy.

This position will have responsibility for the development, management and execution of strategies and processes for delivering recruitment/talent acquisition and management requirements which will contribute to the growth plans of Rodale Inc. The incumbent will provide the coaching to guide management as well as all levels of employees throughout the organization with regards to Talent Acquisition and Human Resources. This position will identify top talent that builds a high performance culture that will drive business growth strategies. Position will also be responsible for Best Practices that will support teams across the organization with regards to talent acquisition as required. The incumbent will also be responsible for overall compliance of interview process and company guidelines by providing expertise and training throughout the organization.

This position will also strategize and identify ways to better use the talent tracking system. The Manager will be responsible for the integrity of applicant data and correspondence including reference checking. Recruitment and Staffing reports will be generated on a regular basis to SVP, HR & key stakeholders.

In addition, this position will provide the necessary support to the Human Resources department with regards to employee relations, organizational development and any special projects as directed.


•Develop, manage and execute recruitment strategies, processes for open positions within the organization.
•Partner with HR Business Partner’s and develop and execute successful recruitment strategies. Provide expertise & guidance through process.
•Define & implement full cycle recruitment and new hire processes for exempt & non exempt positions and ensure Company-wide continuity.
•Validate job descriptions and ensure budget approval
•Ensure compensation is within appropriate guidelines
•Develop and execute recruitment plan
•Screen all candidates & make recommendations to hiring managers
•Coach hiring managers on interview skills
•Coordinate second interviews for management
•Generate offer letters
•Explore and develop new and creative recruitment strategies to source appropriate candidates for exempt and non exempt positions.
•Strategize and identify best ways to use Open Hire, talent tracking system. Insure proper functionality. Insure integrity of applicant data and correspondence including EEO data for HRMS (when applicable).
•Communicate Open Positions Overview Report/Recruitment Activity Reports, Cost per Hire Report as well as other needed reports for SVP, HR & key stakeholders.
•Oversee the strategic recruitment of Internship program in conjunction with HR team.
•Ensures staffing processes, procedures and practices are in compliance with Federal, State and Company guidelines.


• Proven expertise in Talent Management within the publishing, entertainment or media industries
• Proven ability to drive the business forward with a keen understanding of people
•Proven ability to provide strategic leadership and is respected by management and employees throughout the organization
•Ability to create opportunities by developing new recruitment strategies and resources
•Excellent project management skills
•Ability to effectively utilize technology to improve recruitment efforts including talent tracking system
•Outstanding judgment and ability to make decisions quickly

Key Experiences/Achievements

•5 -7 plus years of recruiting and staffing experience required as a full cycle recruiter preferably in a fast paced high volume environment; Ability to recruit for all levels of the organization from entry to senior level staff in various geographic locations
•Proven success in creating new methods & strategies
•Proven experience with HRMS and talent tracking systems
•Proven experience with EEO initiatives and employment law
•Minimum 4 year College Degree
