Summit Business Media is currently seeking a Conference/Tradeshow Marketing Manager. The position is based in Hoboken, NJ (within one block of the Hoboken train station) through August 2013 and then moving to Manhattan. Summit Business Media is a diversified b-to-b publishing company serving financial, insurance, banking and global mining industries.

To be considered for this creative opportunity you are to have 3 – 5 years of experience as a marketing manager of tradeshows, exhibitions or conferences in a conference or publishing company (preferred). You must be skilled at creating and executing event marketing plans, managing the marketing budgets and understand and apply ROMI (return on marketing investment). You must be able to use creative copywriting to sell, cross-sell and up-sell new and existing clients (i.e., sponsors and attendees) within a portfolio of conferences. You will need multi-media experience – integrating email, direct mail, streaming media, podcasts, etc. or are excited to be involved in a marketing matrix environment. An understanding of data mining and segmentation for universe development and experience in building and maintaining strategic partnerships and alliances are strongly needed. This is a mid-level position.

Background Preferences

Experience in managing marketing P&Ls and developing and executing multi-media marketing campaigns

Knowledgeable of social media and ability to build community through social media tools

Comprehensive knowledge of conferences audience generation and exhibition sales marketing

Proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

Experience in HTML email development and updating content on websites

Requirements

Bachelors degree in related field (ie., marketing, communications, etc.)

Minimum of 3 years experience in tradeshow and/or conference marketing in a business-to-business and/or direct-to-consumer publishing organization (preferred) or conference company

Ability to manage multiple simultaneous marketing campaigns from start to finish

Good organization and communication skills with particular attention to detail

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and good skill level in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, DreamWeaver, etc.)
