Cambridge University Press seeks two (2) Acquisitions Editors (at ‘Editor’ or ‘Senior Editor’ level, depending on experience) to drive the continued growth of our global Science, Technology and Medicine (STM) lists. The successful candidates – based in our New York office (although US-based ‘remote-working’ editors may be considered) – will be key players in the next phase of growth as Cambridge's distinguished lists expand in line with new publishing opportunities. The primary responsibilities of these 2 editors will be in book acquisitions, but there will also be significant opportunity for commissioning of STM ‘content’ generally, across books, journals, and forward-looking hybrid content, in line with the current rapid pace of change in the increasingly-digital publishing world.

Ideally candidates will have proven acquisitions’ experience from a major STM publisher – in either books or journals publishing – in one or more of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Mathematical Sciences, Earth Science, Life/Biomedical Sciences, and Physics. However, we are open to exploring other STM areas – depending on the candidate’s personal acquisitions experience – so please feel free to apply if your direct subject experience lies elsewhere in STM. A graduate degree in an STM subject is preferred. Candidates should have strong organizational and communication skills, enthusiasm, flexibility, and team spirit.

Cambridge offers rewarding career opportunities with competitive salaries and excellent benefits in a positive and supportive environment.
