Working directly with our founder, Charles Melcher, you will bring in new project clients and corporate event sponsors. Your deals will define the future of storytelling across media. You will help set the strategy, create pitch documents, prospect for clients and sponsors, lead pitch meetings, negotiate and close deals, and then quarterback the hand-off to our expert team of producers. You'll have immediate access to our network of relationships and to our deep knowledge about crafting deals that work.You need to have a strong sales background but already have moved into the realm of more complex dealmaking. That said, this isn't a "corporate" job-you need to relish digging into the details and getting out in front of prospects. Because we're selling new ways of telling stories (and not just books, apps, and events), you need to be a masterful communicator who understands that the best results increasingly occur across media forms. You also need to be a "closer," and you need to know the difference between evangelism and the bottom line. You probably have at least 7 years of work experience and perhaps an advanced degree, but we're focused on talent and results, not credentials. You'll work full time from our West Village office with flexible hours but an intense schedule that may include significant travel outside NYC.
