In 2009, NBC Sports won the prestigious Peabody Award for its production of the Beijing Games and was named Best in Sports Television at the Sports Business Awards.RESPONSIBILITIES: * Supervises ENG / EFP staff * Set up stories and assign videographers * Book satellite & fiber feed as needed/requested and track usage * Create daily schedule for news staff including show assignments, incoming feeds and studio tapings * Work with Video Manager for recording of feeds * Coordinate daily productions with Digital Manager for possible web content * Schedule interviews with coaches, student athletes and other sporting and professionals on a daily basis * Build relationships with all news sources * Create long term plans for future stories * Perform other duties and responsibilities as assignedBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: * B.S. or B.A. degree in Communications preferred or equivalent work experience * Minimum Five (5) years of experience in television with a newsroom background preferred * Previous assignment desk experience * Experience with newsroom computer and editing systems * Knowledge of Avid iNews newsroom management system preferred * Thorough knowledge of professional and collegiate sports.
