About the department: NBC Universals Digital Media Delivery team provides digital workflow tools and services to organizations throughout NBCUniversal including Universal Pictures Group, NBC News, NBC Sports, USA Network, SyFy, Bravo, Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and local TV stations. The wide range of services provided by Digital Media Delivery team include centralized transcode and transport of critical NBCU film and television assets and distribution of on-demand content and live streaming events to the web and mobile devices. The DMD team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting web-based software tools for automation of streaming tasks, encoding tasks, and the archiving/retrieval of stored media; assisting with support of existing proprietary products, third party applications, media server infrastructure and researching new tools and standards for our business. Responsibilities: The role will focus on leading the deploymen
t of new and improved products and services for the delivery of NBCUniversal VOD and Live content to internal and external business partners. The ideal candidate will drive product roadmaps, enhance existing workflows, identify process improvements, provide strategic recommendations, and lead cross functional technical and operations teams to design, build, and launch new products and execute on new initiatives. Responsibilities will include gathering client requirements and enhancements, producing timely and scalable deliverables against those requests, and project managing the implementation and timelines. In addition to driving digital delivery solutions, the Product Specialist will be responsible for communicating and managing the operational documentation and training of the support staff to ensure that the systems and workflows in place are properly supported.

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in the technology or media industry Proven track record in successful project management with cross-functional teams demonstrating superb planning and organizational skills Experience demonstrating strong technical, quantitative, analytical and financial modeling skills Experience in a role exhibiting excellent written and oral communications, effective interpersonal skills, and strong formal presentation abilities Experience in enabling customer workflows and operations

Experience within Technical Operations, Broadcast Engineering or Information Technology with proven success in a variety of process improvement and software disciplines. Experience of excellent leadership, team management, relationship building, and interpersonal skills. Experience and knowledge of the television production process, broadcast operations, and live technical production requirements Experience with managing product development cycles inclusive of requirements gathering, product specification documentation, priority management, deployment testing, and launch and communication Basic knowledge and understanding of various file types (inclusive of captions, video, image, and metadata) and methods of packaging and/or delivery Strong background in project management from conception to implementation Experience in provisioning standard operating procedures and escalation processes Experience managing relationships between partners, clients, and vendors High technical competence with direct experience with TCP/IP networking, live streaming technologies, video file formats (including QuickTime, H.264, MPEG4, MPEG2), video compression, audio formats, video file transcoding. Experience in multiplatform digital content distribution (e.g. Broadband, iTunes, Hulu, etc.) Passion for new media distribution and keeping up to date with emerging platforms and the latest technology trends. Design experience, specifically experience in media applications including video and audio
