We are seeking a Senior Editor to join our team who will be responsible for editing recipes and culinary articles for accuracy, grammar, style and suitability for the network website and other initiatives. The right candidate will have a mastery editing techniques with strong knowledge of culinary preparation, culture, cooking and food handling procedures. The candidate will have a demonstrated ability to edit and to direct editorial work for him or herself and others. Will have applied experience in recipe asset management. 4-5 years prior editorial experience in culinary publishing is required.

Other skills include:

· Copyediting skills as they relate to recipes and articles

· Ability to copy edit to AP standards with an ability to accommodate various styles

· Personal computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and database applications

· Mastery of MS Office including database systems

· Prior database management experience required

· Experience managing and working in content management system

· Data entry skills

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Strong project management skills required

· Hands-on culinary experience and/or education require

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Manage editorial workflow for recipe editing large volume of recipes each month.

· Copy edit recipes to AP standards

· Vet recipes for accuracy and originality

· Query and resolve recipe discrepancies with culinary producers

· Review show tapes for recipe consistency

· Address and resolve viewer comments with customer service in regards to recipes

· Maintain and update as needed Food Network recipe style sheet

· Generate and maintain appropriate style sheets for network and individual talent

· Identify, research, write and/or edit original culinary content as directed

· Deliver recipes and ancillary content according to air-date and programming schedules

· Set schedule and coordinate work-flow for editorial deliverables to the website

· Liaise with clients and other service departments as needed to develop and deliver content

· Input recipes in the recipe management tool

· Maintain recipe database and efficient processes for tagging, logging and organizing recipes

· Coordinate with technical groups to manage recipes in various databases

· Investigate and resolve problems and queries in talent recipes

· Train and assign work to other editors and document editorial policy and process

· Coordinate recipe contests

· Oversees ongoing updating of web recipes

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

· Generate and write tips for production, marketing, press and ad sales

· Ability to generate compelling food-related content for books, magazines, web-based and other new media platforms

Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree plus culinary school degree required. 4 year editorial, 2 to 3 years recipe editing, and 1 year content management system experience required.
