The Director of Digital Marketing and Product Innovation will be responsible for creating and implementing digital marketing programs and product strategies with a focus on using new technology, social media and other digital platforms to drive awareness and exposure for our authors and brands.


- Create strategies and plans for direct to consumer promotions for our books, authors and brands, with an emphasis in targeting readers in the social media space, on web and mobile platforms and utilizing apps where applicable.
- Manage all aspects of digital product creation including requirements, budgets and timelines. - Implement RFP process and manage vendor performance and deliverables.
- Responsible for department’s marketing and digital product processes and systems to maximize efficiencies. Identify new processes where needed to improve digital operations and systems.
- Work closely with marketing teams to ensure best practices are met across focus areas, including SEO, social, email marketing.
- Identify new business opportunities and partnerships by staying on top of trends, competition, emerging channels and best practices.
- Document and evaluate the success of digital projects, factoring in budget and resource allocations as well as sales results and marketing objectives.
- Work cross-functionally across the division and within the company to maximize and exploit digital tools, assets and partnerships for greater reach of our authors and fan base as well as sales of our products.
- Collaborate with IT and Operations to ensure that product deployments perform according to expectations, understanding our publishing rights and retailer commitments.


- Minimum of 7 years in digital product management and development - media and/or content company preferred.
- Experience managing a team with the ability to establish and implement process
- Self-starter with strong creative problem solving, facilitation, leadership and interpersonal skills
- Process-oriented with the ability to manage department operations and systems
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Successful budget formation, supervision, and accountability
- Strong communication skills. Familiarity with contacts in media and entertainment a plus
