Yahoo! Entertainment is seeking a hard-charging, dynamic and experienced Senior Editor for omg! our celebrity news site. This forward-thinking journalist will help drive celebrity coverage with the Yahoo! Front Page and Video teams and will also work closely with external partners to deliver a comprehensive content experience to Yahoo! users online, on mobile and on social.

In addition, the Senior Editor will generate ideas, oversee staff and freelance writers and work to increase the quality and quantity of original content created by the omg! Team. This individual will also play a vital role in helping to guide day-to-day and long-lead content across Yahoo’s Entertainment portfolio, which consists of OMG!, Yahoo! Movies, Yahoo! TV and Yahoo! Music.

A strong background in breaking entertainment news is required, along with the skills to develop feature stories, lists, galleries and other compelling content. This person must be comfortable telling stories in all formats, including text, photo and video.

The Senior Editor must also bring deep knowledge of social media. They should know how to create content with viral potential, and how to attract and reach users through Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and other avenues.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in the celebrity and entertainment space as well as a deep background in journalism and the kind of creative spark necessary to building great entertainment brands.

· 5+ years of digital journalism experience
· Excellence in writing, editing and general communication
· Passion for entertainment journalism
· Experience working with writers, editors and freelancers
· Ability to manage teams and communicate effectively from top to bottom of the organization
· Ability to manage time effectively and willingness to work long hours when required
· Desire to collaborate within the team, across teams and even outside of the organization
· Ability to think through fast-paced breaking news situations and act prudently without making mistakes
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office
· BA/BS Degree, preferably in a journalism related degree
