The Job:
As our PR Manager, you will
  • Be a member of Quirky's Storytelling team, working closely with Quirky's Director of PR who works remotely

  • Be responsible for all aspects of Quirky's weekly product press releases

  • Be a strong brand ambassador for Quirky telling our story far and wide

  • Be a part of a growing movement to make invention accessible

  • The Responsibilities:
  • Draft, distribute and manage all aspects of weekly product press releases

  • Provide PR support and planning for marketing initiatives

  • Act as an internal department coordinator

  • Help amplify key product launches

  • Manage a press release calendar and develop new creative ideas for media outreach

  • Constantly develop new media contacts and identify passionate idea people and spread the Quirky word

  • Be a brand ambassador for the Quirky movement and the company's mission to "make invention accessible"

  • Manage media assets produced by the creative team including product photos and videos needed for digital press kits

  • Collect and analyze media coverage about Quirky and its products

  • Assist with SEO strategy

  • Manage media contact database

  • The Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of Public Relations experience

  • College degree or a really great dropout story

  • Entertainment, lifestyle and brand background is a must

  • Strong consumer and lifestyle media contacts

  • Strong and creative writing skills

  • Ability to manage an outside agency

  • Fluency and comfort pitching press directly and via social media platforms

  • Confidence to act as a real brand ambassador in the face of the media

  • Agency and product-specific experience is a plus

  • Enthusiastic, outgoing, hardworking and fun to be around

  • Self-motivated and able to drive initiatives without daily supervision

  • Unrelenting intellectual curiosity and pride in doing awesome work

  • An entrepreneurial spirit
