Your tasks
The Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group is seeking a Business Analyst to join their team of professionals. Reporting to the Business Manager, you will work closely with all members of the Finance team on projects across the entire the division. Responsibilities include: preparing the annual budget and forecasts and updating these in the corporate system, preparing business review packages, managing monthly financial closings and interpreting results, and reporting said results to upper management. Additionally, you will assist in running P&Ls at various stages of a title?s life (acquisition, pricing, bulking, post-publication), maintain shared databases, and work on special projects.

Our requirements
The ideal candidate possesses 2 ? 3 years of experience in a corporate financial or analytical role. A Bachelor?s degree in business, finance or a related field is preferred. Candidates should be proficient in MS Office Suite, with expert skills in Excel (formulas, pivot tables/charts, macros, etc.) and PowerPoint. The ideal candidate is also organized, able to prioritize a busy workload and possess the ability to interpret a large amount of data pulled from multiple sources. Knowledge of financial applications such as SAP, Business Objects and Hyperion is helpful but not required. This role requires strong communication, exceptional attention to detail, and an interest in the publishing industry.
