Do you think in petabytes, not megabytes? The Media Ingestion team manages processing, workflow and data visualization for thousands of titles a day. We're building scalable, next-gen platforms to power Amazon's ingestion pipelines as we become the dominant force in digital media. We are looking for a visionary software development manager who can help us break several molds and launch entirely new technologies and businesses around digital and physical integration space. The ideal person for this role is passionate about both physical and digital content and has demonstrated a career of continued growth, expanding technical influence and responsibility, as well as dedication to developing and expanding teams of talented engineers.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Manage a best-in-class engineering team of 5 that delivers excellent results through rapid iterations
Design and develop state-of-the-art approaches to solving complex and ambiguous problems
Cultivate engineering and operational excellence through metrics and continuous learning
Champion massive product initiatives from start to finish
Manage an agile engineering environment to deliver high quality software weekly
See the big picture, be creative, and positively impact millions of customers

Media Ingestion is rapidly evolving to an integral role in Amazon's mission to offer the world's largest selection to customers as fast as possible-all without physical inventory. If you have the skills to build large-scale, high-performance, customer-friendly products and are interested in large scale digital video delivery, this is the job for you.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
- 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
- 2+ years people management experience
- Experience with OOD and object oriented languages
