To work closely with the Director of School & Library Marketing in implementing all plans geared to this market

Major Responsibilities:
• Manage the MCPG presence at 5-7 annual library/school conventions, with input from Director:
- Coordinate and order booth materials, including display copies; quantities for autographings; signage and furniture. And orchestrate set up of booth on site.
- Create authors/illustrators’ itineraries including arranging author travel; will require professionalism and discretion in dealing with various personalities and individual demands/requests
- Coordinate entertainment at conventions: to include researching and evaluating venues/costs and negotiating with outside vendors; selecting guests based on authors in attendance
• Oversee the submission process for national, state, and other relevant S&L awards
- Associate Manager would judge and select titles to submit based on specific award criteria, and coordinate mailings with department assistant
• Contribute to brainstorming and execution of department marketing plans
- Act as main contact on select projects; including working with and supervising outside consultants for supplemental promotional materials and editing promotional copy.
• Partial supervision of dept. assistant

Experience Needed:
• Minimum 2 years of book publishing experience, preferably in children’s school & library marketing
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Highly organized and detailed minded.

Educational Background Required:
• College Degree required
