The Director, Product Development takes a lead role with NEJM Group product development activities, within and across program and product lines. Ensures that product development efforts support the strategic goals of the organization. Aligns business, editorial, and technology interests, activities, and resources to meet defined audience needs. Identifies, evaluates, defines, and leads strategic initiatives or new product opportunities, as directed. This role can involve initiatives relating to infrastructure, strategic and tactical planning as well as content. Content initiatives can be completely new, a derivative from current NEJM Group assets, or a hybrid of the two.Required Skills Excellent analytical and organizational skills are a must. Ability to synthesize information across editorial, technology, and business and ability to fill in the gaps between strategy and execution are at the heart of this job. Candidate should be equally comfortable leading, participating, and consulting as the situation dictates. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to build consensus, are essential. Required Experience A Bachelorâ€™s degree and at least 3 yearsâ€™ experience in publishing management, corporate strategy, and/or product development are required. An MBA, or other advanced degree, desired. Must have demonstrated experience with all elements of product evaluation, development and launch, as well as an understanding of product marketing, product analytics and market research.
