NYRR has an immediate opening for a Manager in our Creative Services department. This position reports to the Creative Services Director and works closely with the Senior Manager, Production and the Assistant Manager, Creative Services. The Creative Services team is part of the Brand Management and Communications group and reports through the Vice President, Marketing. Working with the Digital and Content team and both internal and external designers, the Creative Services team is responsible for managing the design and production of more than a thousand projects each year

Job Responsibilities:

•Creative services lead for marquee events, including the ING New York City Marathon, the NYC Half, the Brooklyn Half and other events as assigned. Deliverables include, but are not limited to, shirts, signage, promotional items, medals and other event materials.
•Work with the Director, Creative Services and the Chief Creative Officer to integrate and build out the NYRR brand across all our properties.
• Design manager for partner-requested ads in NY Runner and for NYRR brand ads in other publications.
•Project lead for merchandise and other collateral materials as needed.
•Manage layout, design, production and execution of ING New York City Marathon, NYC Half and More/Fitness expo.
•Manage NYRR expo booth production and execution for several events each year.
•Day to day contact with an assortment of vendors in coordination with the Senior Production Manager.
•Traffic and schedule all projects being handled on department schedule.
•Assist in creation of budgets, responsible for maintaining budgets and post-event reconciliations.
•Work with Marketing Managers to make certain all submitted Creative Briefs and Deliverable Sheets are completed before working with Creative teams on execution of projects.
•Maintain and build NYRR, event and partner brands within existing brand guidelines.
•Work with the Assistant Manager, Creative Services on joint projects for internal clients such as Youth and Community Services.
•Creative services lead on projects from the Charity and Philanthropy department.
•Work cross-departmentally to define, prioritize and develop projects.
•Direct in-house and out-of-house designers in execution of projects as outlined.
•Work cross-departmentally to develop and design items that address marketing and partner objectives in a creative manner.
•Other duties as assigned.




Job Requirements:

To succeed in this position, candidates must be comfortable juggling many jobs at once, with both immediate and far-out deadlines. Projects can range from the 5-minute logo placement to project managing all the graphic elements relating to the ING New York City Marathon.

Skills and Attributes:
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Extremely organized, detail oriented and able to work under pressure
•Have a "good eye" for design and branding within standards
•Possess a high level of creativity, able to generate and communicate new creative concepts
•Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office for Mac
•Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe CS6 Illustrator and InDesign
•Proficient with Powerpoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro

Experience:
•Solid understanding of events and experiential marketing
•Well-rounded background in print and promotion production
•Background in visual communication design

Education:
•Bachelor's degree or higher
•7+ years of related experience
