We are currently seeking an Associate Editor for our award-winning TravelAge West media brand. This is an ideal position for a writer/editor who has 2-3 years of experience with a magazine, newspaper or online editorial. Intelligence, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to meet aggressive deadlines are essential to this role. This position is located in our office in West Los Angeles.

•Writes and edits stories for departments and destination sections, as well as cover stories as assigned.
•Manages sections as assigned in the bi-weekly publication and various supplements including Family Getaways and Explorer.
•Manages the content of certain gateways on, which includes writing and assigning stories, editing stories, resizing photos and posting articles and blogs.
•Manages the writing, editing and posting of content for some e-newsletters.
•Works with art department to find photos for the assigned sections and resizes photos as needed.
•Learns about travel industry and develops relationships.
•Represents TravelAge West at industry events and on press trips.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Four-year college degree required. English, Journalism or Literature major preferred.
•2-3 years of experience in magazine, newspaper or online editorial is ideal.
•Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to work well under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines.
•A self-starter with the ability to work independently, or as part of a team.
•Proficiency in the use of InCopy, InDesign, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office, as well as navigating and using the Internet, as appropriate.
•Must possess excellent organizational, management and interpersonal skills.
•Experience with AP style, e-newsletters and social media preferred.
•Knowledge of content management systems and search engine optimization a plus.
