Content Manager, Your Travel Insider

Serve as an integral part of our company while learning and enhancing your skill set. We recently acquired Your Travel Insider and have created the new position of Content Manager. This is a very creative, high-energy position in which you will have the opportunity to work from the ground up to develop a strategy for successfully utilizing existing Northstar Travel Media content as well as content from other resources and determine the best way to transform it for our readers. Do you have the drive, energy, and passion to take on this exciting new position?This position is located in our Mid-town Manhattan office. Candidates who are not local to that office will not be considered.Responsibilities:•Work with Publisher and other Northstar team members to determine content strategy and processes for publishing appropriate content on an ongoing basis.•Effectively utilize Northstar Travel Media content and content from outside resources and determine what is best suited for our current audiences and what types of content will be most effective in driving new subscribers to sign up for our e-newsletters and interact with the web sites. Curate content in a manner that is interesting and digestible for consumers and be able to humanize trade articles for consumers as necessary.•Develop the voice and tone of Your Travel Insider and Luxury Cruise News – ultimately developing a consistent, interesting and trusted voice across the web sites and email newsletters.•Write advertorial copy as needed for clients for e-mail campaigns, in e-newsletters and eventually as needed on web sites.•Proofread all newsletters, advertorials, web site content including checking links and images to confirm they are sourced correctly and that offers are accurate.•Create e-newsletters which are a combination of Northstar sourced content and client provided content and special offers.•Create content in a manner that will help to generate traffic to web sites.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:•BS/BA in Journalism, Marketing or related field.•2+ years’ experience in travel industry at a publisher, travel supplier or marketing firm.•3-5 years’ experience creating/managing content production for high traffic web sites.•E-mail production and marketing experience desired.•1 year experience managing social media platforms for a brand or publisher •Ability to understand differences between ‘trade’ and leisure travel content and how to create appropriate content for a leisure travel audience.•Creative thinker with strong writing and editing skills.•Proficient with Content Management Systems, SEO, and using technology to drive engagement.•Experience editing in a HTML-based platform•Deadline focused and ability to multi-task and keep track of all efforts relating to two separate brands (internal and client deliverables)We offer a competitive salary and benefits plan and a rewarding and dynamic work experience.
