The Academic Marketing department seeks a Marketing Assistant to provide support in the marketing of books in political science, law, and management. The primary responsibilities in this position will be generating promotional materials, executing planned marketing activities, growing and maintaining our database of contacts for email marketing through directed research, and creating and updating website content and promotions. There will be some involvement in social media, such as Twitter and Facebook. This role will also be integral in maintaining author relations and will work closely with colleagues in marketing, sales, publicity, and editorial.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year working in an office environment, ideally in publishing, marketing, or publicity. S/he should possess strong communication skills, be highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to take initiative. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is expected. Previous experience with social media and web CMS are desired.
