Oxford University Press is dedicated to producing English language teaching materials that allow students around the world to realize their potential.

The American English Language Teaching team is looking for a Senior Development Editor for its high quality ESL/ELT print and digital materials for the English for Academic purposes market.

* Work closely with the publisher, publishing manager, editors, authors, design/production, and marketing/sales to ensure successful and timely publications of market-appropriate products.

*Manage the development of programs for print and electronic delivery—including student books, ancillaries and digital components, and digital courses.

*Editorially project manage digital projects and ongoing departmental digital tasks and responsibilities to ensure projects publish to agreed standards, on time and to budget.

*Manage authors through the development process ensuring content is pedagogically correct and market appropriate.

*Participate in the planning and implementation of market research and translate it into the product development process to ensure titles are competitive.

*Hire, train, and manage freelance development staff as they prepare content (for print and non-print/media/online materials).

*Create and manage project schedules and budgets.

*Create a collaborative work environment with editorial, marketing, market development, media, design, art editing and other internal departments to ensure the ultimate success of the product.

*Manage and communicate information regarding progress and findings on a project-by-project basis such that relevant parties are kept informed and decisions can be made in a timely fashion.

*5 years of previous publishing experience in ESL/EFL/ELL or ELA
*At least 2 years of digital publishing experience
*High level analytical and problem solving skills
*Clear and confident communication and language skills
*Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications
*General understanding of HTML and XML
*Experience checking work for accuracy, pedagogical appropriateness, and digital ease of use
* Must be able to successfully pass the OUP Editing Test
