National Journal is seeking a highly driven Senior Marketing Manager with a scrappy attitude and a love for the creative process to join its small but fast-paced marketing team. He/she will play an integral role in developing and executing marketing strategies targeting digital, event, and print advertisers. The position will report to the Director of Marketing.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Contribute to the writing and creation of high-impact marketing materials, such as client proposals, RFP responses, presentations, sell sheets, media kits, and other collateral.
  • Coordinate with advertising sales staff to brainstorm client solutions and to create, edit, and finalize marketing materials for submission to advertisers.
  • Participate in advertising sales staff meetings and advise staff on how best to engage advertising clients.
  • Help to execute research and compile data that clarifies advertiser needs and demonstrates National Journal’s value.

    Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:
  • Five years of experience in marketing, preferably in digital media.
  • Demonstrated passion for the digital media space, with an interest in politics and policy.
  • Exceptional writing skills coupled with a creative, out-of-the-box mind.
  • Graphic design skills and familiarity with InDesign are a plus, as are copy-editing skills.
  • Results orientation and ability to help drive new revenue to National Journal.
  • Bachelor’s degree, with an outstanding record of achievement.
  • Positivity, tenacity, and “grace under pressure.”
