Business Manager, Digital, Conde Nast Media Group


The Business Manager, Digital will be responsible for high level reporting and analysis related to key aspects of the digital business.  He/she must be extremely analytical with the ability to make strategic business decisions based on data analysis.  This person will provide day-to-day support for the Associates Business Director, Digital as well as the Sales and Management teams within the Conde Nast Media Group.  He/she will be highly involved in the creation and implementation of digital rates and policies. 

The Business Manager, Digital will directly oversee the Digital Sales Planning team alongside the Associate Business Director and one other Business Manager.  Consisting of 50+ Digital Sales Planners and Associates, the Planning team provides digital support for all internal Sales teams. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Associate Business Director, Digital as well as the Corporate Sales and Management teams
  • Provide detailed reporting and analysis related to digital revenue, rates, business trends, and other key metrics
  • Develop, update, and maintain Conde Nast’s digital rate structure and media policies
  • Strategically develop custom digital rate cards for key, Corporate accounts
  • Directly manage the Digital Sales Planning team, assisting in the recruitment, retention, and growth of the staff
  • Troubleshoot issues and offer timely and effective solutions to mitigate revenue loss
  • Provide approval for anything that falls outside of media guidelines, specifically digital rate exceptions
  • Effectively communicate strategy and changes related to digital rates, guidelines, and processes
  • Spearhead internal collaboration to develop pricing for digital products including mobile and tablet
  • Assist Associate Business Director in developing processes to reduce inefficiencies and improve productivity
  • Liaise between Sales/Sales Planning and other internal teams including Digital Ad & Revenue Operations, Integrated Marketing, Technology, and the Conde Nast Studio
  • Maintain knowledge of existing digital products, new sales opportunities, and major changes in the industry
  • Provide ongoing digital education for internal teams


  • Strong analytical and reporting skills; candidate must be highly proficient in excel
  • Computer savvy with the ability to master reporting systems quickly; knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred
  • Ability to problem solve and provide effective solutions to a wide range of potential challenges 
  • Adept at working in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple projects concurrently
  • Must be detail oriented and have highly effective time management skills
  • Experience in Digital media is preferred; interest in Digital media is required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in advertising or media; ideally 1+ year(s) in a management/leadership role
  • A bachelor’s degree is required
