 As a Senior Research Manager, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations to support your client's programming and marketing research needs.  You will report to the Vice President and serve as the day-to-day project manager on specific accounts.  You will oversee project logistics, survey design, strategy, data analysis, and in-person presentations. You will be tasked with maintaining and strengthening client relationships by ensuring servicing requirements always meet or exceed client expectations. 

 

Specific responsibilities will include:

-Consulting with clients on project specifications, logistics, and methodologies

-Developing questionnaires and report templates

-Maintaining and organizing template library and shared drive

-Creating and implementing banner plans, checking data in-flight and post-field, pulling data and preparing custom Excel tables, and managing normative data sets

-Monitoring field execution to ensure quality data collection, including weekend and evening monitoring (if needed), and interacting extensively with the Operations and IT teams throughout project lifecycles

-Developing discussion guides for qualitative projects; managing clients, facilities and moderators before and during focus groups

-Analyzing data and providing insightful/actionable research reports

-Making high-impact presentations to influence client decision making

-Contributing to development of team objectives to deliver measureable client value

-Conducting training with client associates regarding Nielsen products and services.  This will require actively maintaining your skills and seeking training as necessary from IT and other associates

-Assisting with business development meetings and presentations to comparable level client contacts

-Maintaining client contact schedule and sales book

-Developing proposals and estimating project pricing

-Providing onsite support during pilot season for key clients (local)

-Occasional travel required

Skills

Education Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree a plus

Bilingual in Spanish is a huge plus

Job Requirements

-         5-8 years in television or primary research

-         Strong organizational skills to manage primary research projects from inception through completion

-         Familiar with various quantitative and qualitative research methodologies

-         Works well cross-functionally with other members of a high performance team

-         Strong analytical skills to draw findings from complex data sets

-         Ability to develop trust and respect with clients 

-         Demonstrated ability to write proposals and make small group presentations

-         Proven problem-solving skills using deductive reasoning, understanding hierarchical relationships and identifying gaps in logic

-         Intermediate to advanced technical proficiencies in Microsoft Office software, including Excel and PowerPoint

-         Interest in and familiarity with television landscape and industry trends strongly desired

-         Experience with Nielsen software tools desired

-         Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
