Position Description: The Wall Street Journal Sunday is looking for a news editor. WSJ Sunday appears in more than 70 metropolitan newspapers around the country and reaches 7 million homes a week. Focused on markets news, personal finance and careers, the section features 16 ½ columns (about a dozen stories) of original content by Dow Jones staff and free-lance writers.

The news editor works closely with the editor in all facets of producing the section and dealing with partner newspapers.

The specific duties of the news editor include working with the section’s news assistants and other reporters to come up with story ideas for columns, lede stories, “Tips of the Week” and other stories—including ideas for art. It also involves editing those and other pieces, writing headlines and preparing online versions. The news editor also prepares the weekly Aggregator column, which digests four to six stories from throughout the Dow Jones family of print and online publications.


Position Requirements: 2 years editing experience
