Duties & Responsibilities The Associate Director oversees administrative operations for the Program to Strengthen Learning and Teaching Excellence (SLATE) and manages all aspects of publishing, marketing/distribution and intellectual property issues for the Harvard Kennedy School Case Program. Specific duties and responsibilities include:

· Refine and document contributed case review policies; monitor and oversee case screening/publication process; and manage part-time Case Publications Coordinator.
· Manage relationships with external case distributors; spearhead internal and external case marketing efforts; field inquiries from case users; and monitor case sales and internal case usage.
· Manage copyright permissions issues, reprint requests, translation requests, distribution agreements, and other case-related inquiries.
· Create and implement pricing strategies for video/multi-media cases, simulations, and other curricular materials.
· In collaboration with the Director of SLATE, prepare SLATE budget and long-term financial plan; monitor budget variances; oversee gift funds; and manage processing of all SLATE financial transactions.
· Oversee routine personnel and contracts issues for SLATE including term appointments and costing; consultant contracts, student payments, travel reimbursements, and mini-grants to faculty.
· Manage SLATE and Case Program web sites (content, lay-out and functionality) and oversee the digital repository of cases and related clearance documentation.
· With support from SLATE Program Coordinator, oversee office space, phones, computers, copiers, and meeting scheduling for SLATE team.
· Supervise 2-3 part time SLATE Staff/Program Assistants.
· Work on special projects as assigned by Director of SLATE.

Basic Qualifications BA/BS and 5 years related project management and/or publications experience.

Additional Qualifications Master's degree preferred. Excellent problem-solving, communications, and interpersonal skills. Experience managing academic publications including copyright and intellectual property issues and/or marketing/distribution is strongly preferred. Experience with design and development of websites, databases, and/or content management systems is desirable.
