Agricultural Commodities Reporter
Position Description: The Wall Street Journal is looking for an energetic, enterprising reporter to join its agricultural commodities team in Chicago. The reporter would cover daily developments in the futures markets for grains and livestock, delivering scoops and exclusive insights for digital and print audiences on the trends and gyrations that ultimately determine the cost of the food we eat, as well as the financial fortunes of farmers and global agribusiness giants. The reporter also would write longer-term features exploring shifts in the markets and on U.S. farms at a time when the agriculture sector is responding to rising food demand from China and other emerging economies.
Position Requirements: The optimal candidate would have experience covering markets and/or agriculture, and be able to handle the pressures of real-time coverage while also seizing opportunities to develop a rich list of sources and write deeper, longer pieces.
