Executive Director Advertising Sales
Located in New York, The Executive Director of Advertising Sales is a senior-level position reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer of Billboard. This position oversees national sales for Billboard’s portfolio of leading endemic (music industry facing) products: Billboard magazine, Billboard.biz, Billboard e-newsletters, Billboard conferences/events, and Billboard charts, the most authoritative and renowned in the world. In addition, the position will be responsible for growing consumer advertising within Billboard’s endemic properties via integrated sales and the packaging of Billboard’s consumer-facing assets with the core business properties. Responsibilities:•Lead endemic sales team consisting of 10 sellers•Manage list of core accounts and develop new accounts•Develop ideas for and lead sales effort for Billboard advertiser-driven specials and tent-pole special issues, features and sections •Create and service music industry account lists •Oversee revenue estimates and sales metrics and ensure profitability •Collaborate with marketing and creative services on sales tools, collateral materials and custom sponsorship opportunities•Strategize with sellers on accounts, run sales meetings, attend and present at client meetings, some travel Qualifications: •Extensive music industry decision-making contacts/relationships•Sales and promotion experience •Passion for music and understanding of dynamics of music consumption and new music landscape•Strategic, organized, a fluid communicator•Ability to build and manage succinct reporting systems•Ability/willingness to travel Due to the volume of resumes that we receive, only those candidates selected for consideration will be contacted.
