Description: Seeking a skilled content and multimedia producer with experience writing for a variety of platforms, including print, Web, multimedia, and social media. Successful candidate will have a strong foundation providing several communications services: research, interviewing, writing, copy editing, and detailed proofreading. Will support a small, cross-functional, and highly collaborative creative team by developing and repurposing content for reports, books, brochures, manuals, speeches, process documents, websites, social media, and audiovisual and multimedia presentations, and other digital products.

This position is located at a small workstation in an office environment without an expectation of privacy, where noise levels are usually moderate. Candidates must have a willingness to accept overtime on short notice. Interested parties must work well under pressure and work professionally, cooperatively, and courteously.

Experience:
• At least 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience as a writer and editor in communications or government sectors, with a bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field required;
• Must possess a strong background in conducting independent research, writing for internal and external audiences, and developing content for print and digital platforms;
• Familiarity with copy editing and knowledge of Associated Press or Chicago Manual of Style guidelines is required;
• Must have a strong interest in the legislative process and the history of the U.S. Congress;
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office and proficiency with PC and Mac platforms are required;
• Understanding of print design concepts, page layout, typography, image preparation, and document production is desired;
• Understanding of digital design concepts, user interface, image optimization, and video production is desired;
• Experience with print layout, photo editing, and video editing software is a plus (e.g. Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere);
• Must be detail-oriented, have strong time-management skills, and be able to complete assignments under strict deadlines;
• Must have the ability to work independently, innovate, prioritize, and multi-task.
