XO Group Inc. This individual will oversee the development and execution of primary research projects, data management and insights creation to support the company’s sales and marketing teams and position the XO Group family of brands (TheKnot.com, WeddingChannel.com, TheNest.com, TheBump.com and Ijie.com) as the thought leader for this “five years of firsts” lifestages.Core responsibilities consist of leading the translation of primary research findings into actionable insights and communicating them effectively to the sales, marketing and related teams. This role will oversee all primary research projects (including our series of bridal industry studies), and will also help develop the insights strategy and game plan for the company. Ideal candidates must have a genuine passion for data, consumer research and insights, and its role in the digital landscape.Responsibilities:-Utilize a broad spectrum of research tools and methodologies to identify key metrics and trends that position the XO Group family of brands as a valuable advertising platform for clients and agencies-Work closely with marketing and sales to develop daily analysis, packaging, and presentation of various syndicated and secondary research data into smart, compelling sales stories-Conceive and develop primary research projects including surveys, panels and online discussion boards that address broader selling objectives across our brands-Manage research vendors, ensuring projects stay on time and on budget-Recommend how to maximize the usage of research data and materials to facilitate the sales process-Regularly present primary research findings and insights to internal and external players-Maintain a resource area for communicating relevant data and research findings to various internal constituents-A creative approach to analyzing and synthesizing data highlighting consumer trends and brand strengths Requirements:-Minimum of 2-3 years experience as a media or market researcher with at least 2 years working directly with ad sales teams and/or agencies and/or within an advertising context-BA/BS in social sciences, marketing, or other related field-The ideal candidate will have most (ideally all) of the following types of research and analytics experience: -Thorough understanding of primary research methodologies -- both quantitative and qualitative -- and how to use them effectively -Familiarity with syndicated competitive research products (comScore, Nielsen, etc.) and web analytics platforms (Omniture, Coremetrics, etc.), and positioning traffic metrics and site usage data -Familiarity with ad effectiveness research methodologies and players (Dynamic Logic, Insights Express, etc.)-Exceptional oral, written and presentation skills-Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint-Self-starter with the capability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, solve problems, and establish and meet deadlines-Ability to thrive in a rapidly-evolving, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentXO Group Inc. complies with all federal, state, and municipal laws that prohibit discrimination because of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.Thank you for your interest in this position and our company.
